Two ATV riders killed in crash Sunday in Raleigh
Two people are dead after an all-terrain-vehicle (ATV) was involved in a car accident Sunday night in Raleigh.
According to authorities, the accident happened at the intersection of Poole Road and Russ Street around 6:56 p.m.
Just before 7 p.m., Taylor Williams, 24, was driving his car when he made a left turn from Russ Street onto Poole Road.
Keevin Epps, 36, was driving an ATV northwest on Poole Road with Jayah Jackson, 18, as a passenger. Epps and Jackson were not wearing safety helmets.
As Williams was making the turn, Epps hit Williams’ car.
Epps and Jackson were ejected from the ATV and died due to their injuries.
The driver of the other car involved did not report any injuries.
Williams was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
A vigil was held for Epps and Jackson Monday night at the site of the accident.
Over 30 friends and family members of the victims gathered at the site and placed candles and balloons.
Epps mother said she is numb over losing both her son, and her niece, on Mother's Day.
