A company making accessories for trucks, Jeeps and Broncos looks to fill a new facility in Mesquite with up to 125 jobs.
RealTruck Inc. plans to open a roughly 625,000-square-foot regional distribution center within the 20 East at Trinity Pointe business park in January, the company told Dallas Business Journal on Oct. 15. The Michigan-headquartered company aims to fill building two of the development with about 100 to 125 jobs over time, with local job postings slated to start in December.
It will be RealTruck's first facility in the Dallas area and second in the state, along with a factory in Laredo. Kelly Szatkowski, senior vice president of customer fulfillment, said it was attracted to the site east of Dallas by quick fulfillment lead times, access to a large workforce and potential incentives for employers.
Created in 2007 through the merger of two pickup truck accessory companies, Extang Corp. and TruXedo Inc., RealTruck is an online retailer and manufacturer of accessories for trucks, Jeeps and sport utility vehicles, according to its website. According to its Linkedin bio, the company operates 72 facilities across four continents and has more than 5,000 employees.
The 20 East at Trinity Pointe park being developed by Stream Realty Partners LP will span about 3.4 million square feet across six buildings. Ridley Culp, vice president at Stream, said the project’s location on I-20 and access to power make it ideal for distribution and manufacturing tenants. The firm currently has 293,548 square feet and 348,412 square feet of space available in buildings one and two, respectively.
RealTruck is the second tenant to secure space at the industrial park. Hithium Tech USA Inc., a manufacturer of clean energy storage products, leased roughly 483,000 square feet earlier this year. The Hithium Tech facility, its first production location in the U.S., is expected to create 141 jobs within five years.
