Prospect Profiles: Ricky Council IV, Kendric Davis among six players at June 6 Wizards workout

Pre-draft workouts are picking up and the Wizards have guys right in the thick of it. They hosted six more prospects on June 6, including Ricky Council IV and Kendric Davis. Here's a look at the six players from the June 6 workout.

RICKY COUNCIL IV - Position: Guard- Height: 6'6" - Weight: 205 - College: Arkansas

Ricky Council IV played two seasons for Wichita State before transferring to Arkansas to team up with Nick Smith Jr. and Anthony Black, creating a star-studded guard rotation. During his lone Arkansas season, Council averaged over 16 points per game on 43.3% shooting from the field to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

A great downhill scorer and off-ball slasher, Council does most of his work around the rim where he uses his length and athleticism to contort in mid-air, creating unique finishing angles.

When asked about his workout with the Wizards, Council said, "It was good. Very intense. Definitely the most intense workout I've been to so far... Real intense. Good competition."

KENDRIC DAVIS - Position: Guard- Height: 6'0"- Weight: 177 lbs- College: Memphis

Before transferring to Memphis to play his final collegiate season under head coach Penny Hardaway, Kendric Davis built up four years of experience playing at TCU and SMU. After turning into a bona fide scorer at SMU, Davis took his scoring up another level for his lone season at Memphis, where he averaged a team-high 21.9 points per game on 41.4% shooting from the field to go along with 5.4 assists and 3.7 rebounds.

PATRICK GARDNER - Position: Center- Height: 6'11"- Weight: 245 lbs- College: Marist

Patrick Gardner has had an interesting basketball journey. After spending three years at Nassau Community College, he transferred to St. Michael's for two years, the first of which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In his second year at St. Michael's (and first full season), Gardner averaged a whopping 20.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

After breaking out at St. Michael's, Gardner transferred to Marist where he continued to flash his dominance as a stretch-five, averaging 19.1 points per game on 49.7% shooting from the field and 38.3% shooting from deep.

JAZIAN GORTMAN - Position: Guard- Height: 6'2"- Weight: 184 lbs- Previous team: Overtime Elite

Jazian Gortman didn't take the traditional post-high school route of attending a major university and playing college hoops. Instead, he opted into playing for Overtime Elite (the same team twin brothers Amen and Ausar Thompson played for). At Overtime Elite, Gortman displayed all of his winning qualities, doing a little bit of everything. He averaged 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.5 steals per game.

When asked what he was able to show the Wizards during his workout, Gortman said, "First and foremost, just [that I'm] a competitor offensively and defensively. Pick up fullcourt on the 3-on-3, just showing that I can play defense with the best of them. Offensively, just playing point guard skills, being able to score in some of the 1-on-1 drills that we had and being able to showcase my ability to create space and make shots."

TREY JEMISON- Position: Center- Height: 6'11"- Weight: 260 lbs- College: UAB

Trey Jemison started his college career at Clemson where he spent two years before transferring to UAB. At UAB, he was able to showcase his full arsenal of skills. Jemison was selected to the 2022-23 All-Conference USA Team and was a 2x member of the Conference USA All-Defensive Team.

NOAH LOCKE - Position: Guard- Height: 6'3"- Weight: 210 lbs- College: Providence

Noah Locke has seen his fair share of hoops talent at the college level. He spent his first three seasons at Florida and then one season at Louisville before finally arriving at Providence. A consistent double-digit scorer, Locke totaled over 1,600 points during his college career.
